This AI Transparency & Responsible AI Statement explains how Memry Corporation Limited (“Memry”, “we”, “our” or “us”) uses Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) within the Memo platform.

Its purpose is to help users understand:

2. Our Approach to AI

Memo has been developed to assist people living with dementia, mild cognitive impairment and other memory-related challenges, together with their families, carers and care professionals.

AI enables Memo to communicate naturally, provide reminders, support routines, encourage wellbeing, assist with care coordination and help users remain connected with the people who support them.

Memo has been designed to support people, not replace them.

Human care, compassion and professional judgement remain central to the purpose of the Service.

3. How Memo Uses Artificial Intelligence

Depending upon the features enabled, Memo may use AI to:

• hold natural voice and text conversations;
• answer questions;
• provide reminders and prompts;
• encourage daily routines;
• help organise appointments and activities;
• assist users in recalling stored memories and information;
• summarise conversations where appropriate;
• support family communication;
• provide emotional reassurance through conversational interaction;
• personalise responses based upon user preferences and authorised information;
• improve accessibility and user experience.

AI responses are generated dynamically and may vary between conversations.

4. AI-Generated Responses

Users should understand that AI-generated responses are created using statistical language models rather than human reasoning.

Although Memo aims to provide helpful, accurate and supportive responses:

• responses may occasionally be inaccurate;
• information may be incomplete;
• responses may become outdated;

Memo has been designed around the principle of human oversight.

• the Primary User;
• family members;
• informal carers;
• professional carers;
• healthcare professionals;
• NHS organisations.

Important decisions relating to health, welfare, finance, legal matters or personal safety should always involve appropriate human consideration.

Where professional care is being delivered, responsibility for professional judgement always remains with the relevant professional.

6. Decision-Support Only

Memo is a decision-support and care coordination platform.

Memo is not designed to make autonomous decisions affecting an individual’s legal rights, healthcare, finances or personal safety.

Users remain responsible for decisions made following any AI-generated suggestion or recommendation.

7. Clinical Limitations

Memo is not:

• a doctor;
• a clinician;
• a nurse;
• a psychologist;
• a diagnostic tool;
• a medical device unless expressly stated otherwise under applicable regulatory approval.

Memo does not:

• diagnose illness;
• prescribe treatment;
• interpret medical test results;
• replace professional healthcare advice;
• provide emergency medical services.

Where medical advice is required, users should consult an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

In an emergency, users should contact the appropriate emergency services immediately.

8. Accuracy and Limitations

While we continually improve Memo, we cannot guarantee that AI-generated information will always be:

• correct;
• complete;
• current;
• suitable for every situation.

Factors affecting accuracy may include:

• incomplete user information;
• unclear voice input;
• poor audio quality;
• background noise;
• technical failures;
• limitations inherent in AI technology.

Memo supports professional practice but does not replace it.
